I was saddened to find out last week that my favorite shithole here in Cortland the 3rd Rail was shut down. Make no mistake the place was a complete shithole but thats what gave it character. Aside from my learning experience there on why you should not mix Gin&Tonic Labbats and Jack Daniels shots, oh and btw mixed together they make one big mess *l*. Oh yeah as I was saying aside form that learning experience I had fun partying with some of the local indy bands and some bands from the New York area people might have heard of like HammerMill, Hollow Point, Bent Peg, SuperJakk, and even Crop Duster. Others no longer around Ultraphli (Buds Of mine :-) and my sister's boyfriend's band still occasionally around the Filthy Primates. Unfortunately due to a inside power play the 3rd Rail lost their good security and with having to hire Jocks from Cortland State the underagers were getting in and drinking, as these things go it lead to a close down. Kinda a sad ending to a fun local spot by hey it happens and that can't erase the memories.
