New to SG as well as NC. Well, I guess relatively new to NC, I moved here from LA last November, so not that much of a newbie, plus I used to live here a few years back, hell I'm not new at all. I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone on this wonderfully beatiful site. So I play bass for a Raleigh based band called the Ghost of Saturday Nite band page , I do data entry at a medical office, and I do some screenprinting on the side. It used to be my trade back in LA, where I worked for several merchandising companies for about 4 years.
I have my immediate family here in NC as well as lots of my old friends. I have moved around quite a bit over the years.
Let's see, my journey started off in LA, where I was born, than to Columbia, SC at the age of 6, lived there for about 6 months, than to Winnipeg, CAN for 6 months, next to Miami for 3 years, than by age 10 it was DC for 3 years, than back to Miami for 1 more year, than to Raleigh at age 14. Okay...my pops works for the Fed gov so that was the reason for all the moving, which seemed cool at the time but turned out to be really horrible for stability and friendships. Oh yeah, so when I turned 21 I left Raleigh to go back home to LA and now it comes full cirlce, after 6 years in lala land I'm back with the familia in NC, now a well traveled 27 year old.
So along the way I have picked up a real love for genuine music which is easily relatable to and created by musicains that truly mean and feel what they are doing, realistic art and photography, the really sleazy and lifelike stuff, just showing tangilble straightforward images and subject matter. I also picked up a love for reading, it was something that I could pass the time with on my own, so I really got into history, and earlier American writers like Thomas Wolfe, Herman Melville. I am currently into St. Thomas Aquinas, reading up on his works. But I'd have to say music is my first love and what I spend most of my time doing, just playing, listening and watching live.
I guess that is somewhat a lil' intro on me, feel free to hit me up about anything... I'm always looking to meet new people or share ideas on just about anything.
