So.. back from my trip to DC...

Let's sum it up quickly....

1. DC traffic sucks! Got lost too many times... thankfully didn't wreck the rental car.

2. Sight Seeing was cool. Went early.. spent 3 hours, didn't spend a dime on anything other than drinks and food (and well cameras once my freaking digital died.. should have thought to bring batteries...) but the point is.. the sight seeing was free. Saw the Capitol building, the white house, a bunch of memorials.. smithsonian castle.. I could go on and on but that was fun. The White House was way smaller in person than it seems from TV! I was suprised! But I also saw the Canadian Embassy and that was the highlight of my trip yay! Honestly though, sight seeing was cool.

3. Wedding we went to was very nice. I was one of 10 white people.. that was unusual for me. Ever since I've moved to Tampa I am quite frequently the minority at all social events. Totally different for a girl who grew up in a town with a population of 700 people and all of them being white...

Got invited to the Bachelorette Party of the Bride I had never met until the night before her wedding. Ended up helping her make her bouquets.. (I did the ribbons.. go me.. they were hot!). Cool people.

4. The remainder of the trip could have been better. Some things shouldn't be brought up when one is having a nice evening.

So that was DC.. mostly fun all around with a few exceptions.. but overall pretty good. Got Airport souvenirs.. haha.. I don't know why but I'm such a sucker for cheesy stupid souvenirs.

How was everyone else's weekend?

Driving through DC is hell. I lived in Maryland for two years and never wanted to drive there. The best idea is to take the metro from somewhere outside of town. But at least you had a good time overall.
The running club thing is interesting just because it doesn't seem to be a very common thing. At least for the people I know. I might ask about joining some time.
I went paintballing with a couple of my coworkers and some mutual friends. We usually go woods-balling (finding an empty lot or large grove of trees) as opposed to an actual field that has refs. But if you want to go sometime I'm game, it should be fun.

Aaaaah, glad you had a good trip... and that's great about helping the bride make her bouquet... how cool. I remember being asked to do the ribbons on the bridal car at someone's wedding... it was the most minor thing, but it felt so nice to be involved! biggrin
