If you come out paintballing I make no guarantees about going easy on you. Several of the people I play with are either currently in the military or have been in the past. So we usually don't mess around too much when we're hunting eachother. But it is good fun, no one is mean, and no one keeps shooting after you've called yourself out.
I imagine the running group is an interesting lot. I do enjoy running, but I usually like going on my own.

Driving through DC is hell. I lived in Maryland for two years and never wanted to drive there. The best idea is to take the metro from somewhere outside of town. But at least you had a good time overall.
The running club thing is interesting just because it doesn't seem to be a very common thing. At least for the people I know. I might ask about joining some time.
I went paintballing with a couple of my coworkers and some mutual friends. We usually go woods-balling (finding an empty lot or large grove of trees) as opposed to an actual field that has refs. But if you want to go sometime I'm game, it should be fun.
