I fell in love with my best friend not long after I first met her, and it took me years to figure it out. Might have had something to do with the fact that she was a girl, and I was a still a hardcore Jesus-conversin' Christian at the time, but who's to say? Ever wonder how life might have turned out differently if you were who you are now... back then? I know there's no use in it, but sometimes I look back on my life as a garden of opportunities that I just completely ignored because I was too busy looking up... or getting wet in the rain. I spent a lot of time in the rain back then... I called it down and I killed my flowers. And then I would look at the sky like it was something I could blame. I tell you what, I'm glad I finally realized real life was down here. I wish I hadn't missed so many beautiful things along the way, but I've learned and now I'd much rather bury my hands in the dirt than wash them in acid precipitation.
