Relaxing while sipping on an ice cold Coca-Cola and munching on some crispy Buffalo wings, while watching the Coke Zero Firecracker 400 powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona, and recording the FC Dallas game.
As of Friday 11:00 AM, I was off for a week. Aisha also has a few days off, and her seniority allows her to claim these days before a lot of people who want some time off on the Fourth. As usual, we will celebrate the birth of our country by blowing up a small part of it. A farm in southern Virginia, a fallow field. Actually, they are growing alfalfa there, which, at some point, they will plow under.
There is not much of law down there. Once out of the little town, you are own your own unless you call the police. They are mainly looking for drunk drivers, anyway. So it will be fine to drink as much as we like, and shoot off all the fireworks we like. This little place spends a lot of money, some donated by the residents, on their fireworks show. We will shoot ours off after that, as the towns people will be headed to the local watering holes.
The problem is Serena.
She does not want to go, and it makes some sense, as she wants to define her own role. She does not want to be known as a unicorn, with all the talk about me winning a lottery. It was her own choice. She may come with us, she may do something else. Either way, Aisha and I are going to have to do something very nice for her.
The we have our barbecue pool party. I had visions of a lot of women there, but Courtney invited six close friends, three couples. All three were happy about it, but, one woman, informed that she will not be able to cook, canceled herself and her girlfriend out. Courtney assures me they will be there. When she wanted to do something and Megan did not, or vice versa, Megan would wake her up two or three times a night to talk about it. By Wednesday, Courtney was willing to do anything to get some sleep.
