Almost a month ago, Vi asked me if I had gotten something from Governor Bush, because she had. Sure enough, I found a feeler from Governor Bush. This means he had made up his mind months ago, if he was looking for campaign workers and grunts so early. Other people who had worked on campaigns also got some. Not Kristina, who wrapped herself around Governor Christi last year. Ngoc has never worked on a campaign, and has no plan to start.
I sent a positive but non committal response. I want to see what happens.
I was not on the conference call Governor Romney held, but I can guess what happened. Most of the big swinging dicks had already started to work, or had agreed to work, for other candidates. He also had lost twice, but this is a misnomer. Republicans take turns running. The first time he ran, it was Senator McCain's turn, so he was never going to win, but he established that it was his turn next time.
That is why there is so much excitement in GOP circles right now. We have a deep bench, and things are wide open right now. Anybody's ball game.
