I love to watch Holland play. Not Clockwork Orange, but Brilliant Orange is free flowing and fun. Until they have something important to play for, and then they play cynically and overly defensive. Last time around in the final, and this time, in the semi final.
So, they have Brazil in the consolation game. Since they do not have anything to play for, they should be fine. That being said, I do not give them much of a chance. They will be thinking "one more touch here, one less touch there. a little more weight on that pass, a little less on the other. Would have, could have, should have...." Brazil, on the other hand, was blown out. There was nothing they could have done in that game. So they can forget about it, and just play, and grab third place.
I have not seen what Nate Silver thinks about this match. In actuality, the line up should not give Holland much trouble. I still think the circumstances will be to much for Holland.
