As expected, this past weekend was mental.

I went with a friend of mine to Manchester for our afternoon Hospital of Death gig in Zavvi. Much fun and thrashing was had. Then over to Doncaster for lots of wrestling. My seat couldn't have been better. This was my view...

The tickets were a birthday present from the wife. Well, I paid for them. I think the present was actually permission to go.

I won't bother you with the details of the wrestling here. You can read that on my wrestling blog! http://leighsus.blogspot.com

So I eventually got home from Doncaster at about 3.45am after nearly falling asleep on about three different occasions on the journey home. It was the headlights of oncoming traffic that snapped me out of my doze each time. I joke about going through life at a tremendous pace all the time (20 with a failed marriage etc), but my driving this weekend was most definitely fraught with grave peril.

Having managed to get about 4 hours sleep I had to be up and out of the house to go to wrestling training. I feel like shit in the session if I have breakfast before going. It's normally fine, but this Sunday there was a show straight after training. So I had to pretend that snacks and crisps were a meal. I was sat around feeling ready to pass out from exhaustion when I was told I was actually going to be on the show that evening. Great. So I made my debut in the wrestling ring the other night whilst feeling like absolute crap. I got the crap kicked out of me - hard slaps across the chest and the back were par for the course. My back is still bruised today (Tuesday) from Sunday's slappery.

Then last night was a stand-up gig in Bury. I took one for the team by being on first. The crowd weren't properly warmed up and were therefore inhibited in their laughter. It meant that their laughter was quiet and abrupt, leading to me being unable to build any rhythm in my set and having to stop-start after every gag. I'm very aware that if I were better at comedy that it wouldn't be a problem, but meh, I improvised an entirely new bit based on my hazardous driving on the weekend which got a far better reaction than my planned material. Looks like I have a new bit to my set. YAY!

I feel so ill right now. Really tired, still coughing after about a month, and I've been suffering from something that leads to dehydration for the last few days. Methinks I'm genuinely ill and a trip to the doctors and/or time off work is in order.

Anyway, that was a huge post. I'm sorry for boring you.

Add me on MSN if you want more boring: c0git0_3rg0_5um@hotmail.co.uk
And let me know if you want to meet up in London in December!
