This is a small world that we live in. Although that should not surprise me anymore, I was surprised today, twice. I'll get to that in a minute first the interview. Going into the interview I was not sure if I was going to be asked to teach in Spanish, because it has been a while since I applied and have since thrown out the job posting. So I spent most of my morning preparing for the "demo" that they wanted me to teach, including translating some phrases into spanish, I am not sure I ever knew how to say oval, or had to for that matter. and that went really well I tuaght the lesson in spanglish which is pretty much the makeup of the class, mostly english speakers with some spanish so I think I did rather well.

So I get to the interview and it turns out the woman I was to talk to first was a woman I taught with in San Francisco I never recognized the name nor did I expect to see her in a million years.

After the interview I went to Hunter for an opening reception for an exhibit that a friend of mine was in. In this exhibit the paintings overall were not all that impressive although there were a couple of paintings that I cannot get out of my head. There I am walking around feeling removed and a little self concious becuase it is my second opening reception in NY and it is strange to go to those events and not know anybody.

I am used to running into people that I know, but hey that too will come. Anyway right as I was looking around feeling sort of alien I ran, almost literally into someone that I went to undergrad with, he was older but he recognized me turns out he has been here for three years, and graduated from Hunter. This world is crazy small, or as the kids on the west coast say it is hella small.
