Am I the only person that's sick of a lot of music out there nowadays? I mean, there are talented musicians nowadays, but... So much of the mainstream shit just seems to sound alike and it seems like nobody really appreciates individual talent anymore. I mean, back in the '60s and '70s you had bands like the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Black Sabbath coming out and making their own marks on music and paving the way for future musicians to come out and have role models. I mean, i know they had their share of mainstream hash back then, but - nowadays many bands just feel so blank.

And I'm also just sick as fucking hell of rap. >> I dunno if any of my watchers are big rap fans, so I apologize for speaking against it.... But it's just so annoying to me. It's promoting the gang shit half of the time, or nearly all of it has to be so obscene - I mean, talking about shooting the fuck outta people and then thanking Jesus when they receive an award for their "music"? I'm not really very christian, but i know that Christianity was not created with the promotion of murder and rape in mind. I dunno. Maybe I'm just too "old school". oo; I just hate hearing rap artist taking songs like "Crazy Train" and absolutely tearing it apart to make a goddamned song, y'know? I know it's up to the musicians, but - people that've grown up listening to Zeppelin and Sabbath and such don't like hearing those songs obliterated so they can "shake they asses" to it.

I mean, I like bands from nowadays, but most of my inspirational and motivating music is from my father's era. I mean, look at my "liked bands" list and you'll see new stuff. Hell, i'm giddy over random new stuff I find everyday. I want to get the Stealth soundtrack just so I can get the 3 new incubus songs and whatever collabs BT did on it. I'll never see the movie, but I heart the music I've heard so far. >>

(Wow.. This ended up a lot longer than I had anticipated o_o If you want me to delete it Nattie, just tell me.)

Artists these days lack passion and, above all else, raw TALENT. So many people judge a band by the way they look or act, completely ignoring the fact that talent SHOULD be a factor here.

And rap.. Oh boy, don't get me started. Rap isn't music. It's people talking to a beat, quite literally. They don't sing in keys. They don't play in keys. Now, I don't claim to be a musical genius, but I love music, and I know enough to say that if there are no keys, there is no song. The sad thing is, many rock songs are being crossed and covered by rap stars. Don't get me wrong, that concept had it's moments-- Er, moment I should say. The only time when hip hop and rock and roll goes together was when Run DMC did "Walk This Way" with Aerosmith. Run DMC was about the only hip hop group I could tolerate.
But blasphemys such as a rap cover of "Crazy Train" (I dont know who did it.)
I have three words to this: WHAT. THE. FUCK.

The late Randall William Rhoads REVOLUTIONIZED heavy metal today with that song's classic opening riff and mind-blowing solo. To me, he is a saint of music, a God of Rock and Roll. The man spent every waking hour of his life playing guitar. He did not use drugs. He rarely would drink. He was a man so dedicated to his art, that while on tour when he hired classical guitar teachers, the lesson would often end with the teachers learning more from HIM. Now, to.. Basically, SPIT ON HIS GRAVE to let this blasphemous rap cover of his crowning achievment.. It's sickening. It makes me wonder how such a travesty could ever happen. Sadly, this isn't the only occasion...

Puff Daddy came out with a new song a couple of years back, called "Come With Me." Strangely, the song sounds very familiar.. Like, Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" familiar. I wonder why this is? Oh, maybe it's because.. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT IS! James Patrick Page, the dark lord, the Hammer of The Gods, the Great One HIMSELF not only ALLOWED this blasphemy, but he actually PLAYED GUITAR for it via satellite. Have you lost your mind, Jimmy? Were you drunk when you accepted to do this?! Please tell me you were. Because it's just heartbreaking to think that you could have been sober and fully, completely allowed this to happen.

And now, I've heard rumors that the remaining members of The Doors are going to remake some classic songs with Snoop Dog. I hope and pray that these rumors are FALSE.

Also, say what you want about Michael Jackson, but he owns the rights to all of the Beatles' songs. And he hasn't let ANYONE touch them. That's at least worthy of a pat on the back, or a few African boys desperate to come to America.
