Sorry, this is a long rant.
Why do people always ask my husband and I why our son is blonde? Yesterday my husband was driving his troop home from the dentist and the guy asked him if it ever bothered him or if he was ever curious why Ian is blonde. People ask me this all the time and most of the time I explain to them that Eric was blonde when he was a baby as well and then I just shrug it off cause I know he's Eric's, there's no question of that in my mind or my husband's mind. Lately it's starting to piss me off. What's funny is that people always say something like "no offense" when they ask, but really what isn't offensive about it? They know and I know exactly what they're implying and they're assholes for doing so. Not to mention fucking stupid. I know they taught us all about genetics not only in high school biology (which I'm pretty sure most states require you to take in order to graduate) but in elementary school as well.
Yes my husband is Mexican and yes he has dark hair now but when he was young he had white blonde hair and pale skin. Ian's hair and skin tone are actually darker than Eric's were when he was that age. His dad, even though he is Mexican, actually looks white and has very light brown hair (he's of Spanish and German decent). My mom has red hair and my dad has dark hair but I have the darkest hair of my other two siblings by our dad. My natural hair is actually a medium auburn but I dye it to make it darker cause I like dark hair and it compliments my fair skin better. My brother's hair was like a light brown or dirty blonde and my sister's hair was blonde untill it changed when she was in high school to a light reddish brown, but omg how can this be since my mom's hair is red and my dad's hair is dark? How could they have possibly had blonde children unless my mom is a whore?
Seriously how many people look like an exact mix of both of their parents? I see a lot of dark haired couples with blonde babies. Ian does have most of my facial features, but his nose and forehead (or should I say five-head) look exacly like my husband's. It's never really bothered me till now, cause I'm sick of everyone imlying that I'm a whore and I fuck around on my husband just because we have a blonde baby. How fucking retarded can people be?
