Oh, I almost forgot.

I got a new tattoo and it turned out exactly how I wanted. This is a tattoo that I have been wanting to get for a long time and actually had the idea for it about 15 years ago, but at the time I hadn't earned (in my mind) the right to wear this yet. Or if I ever would. But I went to George at Read Street and we must have worked together on it for about a week sharing ideas. I had the basic idea for the font picked out, but it was awesome working with George to translate my thoughts into tattoo font... not to mention to make it look more like handwriting. Vintage penmanship. Sad. Beautiful. Some sad things in life are so painful they're beautiful. And this represents that for me... so tragically, heart-wrenchingly, gut-churningly beautiful and sad.

It's in German, a language that (for me) represents literature in its highest form. It's from a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke. The poem is called Die Erblindende which basically translates into She's Going Blind.

I'll save the translation of the tattoo for after the pictures.
