Every tuesday in Hillsboro, just a few blocks from our house, the
community holds a farmers market/outdoor concert/car show.

We try to go
every week, spend a few dollars supporting our local community members,
and listen to live music. The boys have a great time, they usually get
to see a couple of their freinds from school and I get to see some cool
old cars that show up from local collectors.

This week was a special
treat. Three young men showed up in the community center square with
boom box and a roll of kitchen linoleum and proceeded to dance.

I was
mesmerized. The bike cops hung out, you could tell they wanted to
harrass them but they couldn't figure out what to get them for. So they
just watched from a distance and seemed to be hoping someone would
complain so they could make them leave. But no one did. And I got to
mentally reminisce about the days, way back when, when my freinds and I
would take my boombox and a large piece of cardboard out and
break-dance. I used to wear these awesome parachute pants and a muscle
shirt...I thought I was the shit. At least these guys were good at it.
So, what are you doing this weekend? I'm taking Dante camping, somewhere between here and Tillamook. It should be nice and relaxing. Just the two of us and a tent and a couple of hammocks and a stream for him to throw rocks into. Maybe a little hiking thrown in just for the fun of it.
Can't forget the marshmallows this time, though.
Go see this, and thanks to Ami for the link

It is unfortunate that I missed out on the party. Missed out on Biscayne's shindig as well, sadly. (I was in Denver that weekend, you see.) Judging from the photos that you posted in your previous journal, it was a HELLUVA good time. Gosh, maybe I can catch the next one. We'll see...
Hoping to attend the Brewer's Festival coming up next weekend, though. You gonna check it out??
Oh, and have a GREAT camping trip with little Dante. (I think it's going to be raining, so bring your rain-gear.)
PS: Parachute pants and muscle shirts: hubba, hubba.
