As tourist season winds down, I'm finding myself ready to do absolutely nothing that involves work for the next week and a half. I'm ready for minimal responsibility and a whole lot of me time.
Im in this kitchen more than 15 hrs a day and am always getting tourists walking in asking the same mundane questions. "Where is this?" "When do y'all open." Etc. It's nearly impossible to hold the sarcasm in as they look hopelessly lost in their travels.
On one hand, I feel for them due to the expanse of the area they're in but on the other hand I question why they're on vacation to begin with. Isn't a vacation the right reason to get lost and find something that you'd never expected to see or experience? Getting off the beaten trail and simply see small life in America?
Although, getting off the beaten trail here usually means you'll encounter a bear and those things will make you a soilent green meal.
