Thankfully I've been lucky with all my piercings...well except having my industrial ripped out.
I think I have an idea about what you are talking about as far as the tattoo. If you haven't figured it out by now I would suggest re-finding the article or tattoo magazine you found the picture in. If it was in a tattoo magazine it should display the tattoo artist and there shop somewhere on the page. I would try contacting them.
