I have been sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo busy lately haha. Exciting, exciting news is that May 8 I fly to Los Angeles! Then the next weekend I fly to Ohio for the hell city tattoo fest! and then back again to LA to live for a year!!!!! I can't wait. I just paid $3000 in airfares today aha, tomorrow I put my life on trademe (nz's answer to ebay), then go sell all my cds, guitars and i don't know, blood or something haha so I can pay for it. i'm working two office jobs for a couple weeks to save some more cash as well as full time writing for magazines and doing editing etc work. Plus trying to steal time with all my wonderful friends before I depart haha. But I am not tired I feel amaaazing, I got sick for a few days but then got over it (working out and taking B vitamins is my secret
) and now life is so good. Everything is falling into place. An awesome job and a sweet place to live in west hollywood are just on their way to me I can just tell haha.
Got a few gigs coming up to go to, Against Me!, Korn haha I love them, and a few others, probably this local one called 'Homegrown'. Been reviewing a whole lot of punk-rock cds lately like the new anti-flag haha, anyone heard it? as well as a whole bunch of local hardcore/punk/metalcore type bands' new cds, it's fun.
Saw Ozzy Ozbourne play not long ago, amazing haha he is such a cute creepy man, Poison and whitesnake played as well. Poison were so into it, Brett Michaels is full of positive energy which was cool and got the crowd going. Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale's voice was sooo good live. Amazing. amazing.
Had the funniest night after, ended up with my friend (who is a hair dresser) cutting this guy's hair at 4am hahaha,,we were both sober but the boys were wasted. Funny times, but now we have new friends. and one has a real cool haircut hahaha
Alice Cooper, Kiss and Lordi played the night before but I had something else on. It was pretty funny though to be walking down a main street in the CBD and have Alice Cooper smile at you pleasantly strolling down the street with his family or whatever while you walk past haha. And then to go up to this main mall where there's this pizza eating competition going on and see Kiss step up and have a go. And then 5 minutes later walking home this guy with a walkie talkie runs past me screaming into his walkie talkie 'ive lost the band, i've lost the band, oh helll i've lost the band' hahaha.
Saw smashing pumpkins play, performance was...ok. Missed Queens of the fucking stone age, one of my favourite bands EVER who opened for them because we were too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least i have seen them play twice before! Saw Immortal play, that was epic, like black metal cabaret, only better. And horse the band - fucking amazing live, interviewed and reviewed them, should be up online when i finall send it to my editor i'll link it for ya to read
