... well, honestly, equipped or not, it's a water fall, and we're all in the stream. I don't think the fall is any different, whether you expect to go over or not. It's all mists and obscurity at the bottom.

Where are we going? Do you exist? I know I do.
What are you doing, this very moment?

I'm sitting in the dark, hunched over my laptop, listening to Last.fm on my xbox, and typing out this blog on SG. I have my laptop on an art board with the clip holding the power cord in place. The board sits on a pillow, and the pillow is on my lap. My IR mouse is perched precariously on my knee, which is jutting out to the right, and I am nestled into the curve of my futon. On the floor around me I am surrounded by dirty dishes, empty energy drink cans, books on Islam, Jihad, the Taliban, and the unedited tales of the brothers Grim. There is a great deal more to my surroundings, but with details like those, it must be real.

Now I'm listening to Atari Teenage Riot.
ah memories.

A friend of mine just told me her friend is slowly dying of colon cancer. But even though all the doctors keep telling her, she hasn't long to live, she's convinced she's going to make it. I admire her fight.

She's swimming aganst the current.
I hope she makes it.

I'm relatively certain I exist, though I'm not sure what state of mind I exist in. That said, I don't know if I would be sorely missed if I were to suddenly disappear into another dimension or such.

Where are we going? Take this question to an extended-temporal-light-cone analysis of life and the only certainty is the event horizon of one's own death. Beyond that, nothing is certain. Grand scheme of things, we're all going to death. Meh.

Martin Buber once said "All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware." The journey of life is birth --> death, and everything else along the way are the little secret destinations/detours that we don't know about until we're actually undertaking them.
