Life has been grand.
Yesterday I swam in my wetsuit and my bright orange swim cap in the morning. It was funny. It's like a life jacket. I was actually floating and the swim cap is hilarious. I actually do look like a real athlete. I'll post some pics after the triathlon. It's on Sunday. Holy holy. I am really excited. One of my friends on the other hand is terrified. Poor thing. She is the strongest athlete by far.
I went to Portland yesterday for a midwifery meeting. It was OK. It was peer review and we listen to stories about births that have issues arise. It is always very educational. I had a lot to talk about but with over 30 midwives present there was no time for that. We are going to schedule a smaller group in my area soon.
After my meeting I went to visit another friend of mine who is a hospital midwife. We have known each other for about 7 years. I haven't seen her is many months and it was just so nice to catch up. We went and had lunch at a restaurant called Oaks Bottom bar and grill. It was really funny to me because my son's name is Oak. I want to get him a T-shirt from the place soon.
So the kids birthdays will be coming soon. Rainey in October and Oak in November. We are planning to get Rainey one of those little notebook computers and he wants to go and see Death Clock (haha) and for Oak a trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. Oak wants to go and see Hollywood Undead in LA and we had to tell him NO. He will be 10 and my hubby is worried the crowd will be to intense. I didn't really think it would be a problem. I grew up in the LA area though so to me it kind of not even a thought. So Disney it will be.
I don't know why I am awake at 6am on my day off. I don't know how to sleep in anymore.
Maybe I'll go to the hot tub at the gym. I'm not suppose to exercise today. I want to. I can't though. Today I am supposed to rest.
