A couple years back when I was ready to practice independantly another midwife told me I wouldn't know what to do if this that and the other happened. I protested that thought. I told her I would. The Universe is apparently helping me out with that. Over that past year I have had some crazy things come up. I feel I have dealt with them all appropriatley and I am now thanking the universe for all the wonderful lessons.

I would like a break from the lessons for a bit. I am not complaining. I am just a bit worn out.

Over the past week I have had 2 babies. One on the 19th and one on the 21st.

One of the mama's has post partum psychosis. I knew it would happen. There was a plan in place. The plan has been activated. It is sad though and exhausting. My phone rings a lot!!!!

The other baby was born premature at 34 weeks gestation. We transported to the hospital where the proceeded to give her some drugs and steroids. Baby stayed in for a couple more days. She is still in the NICU. Very healthy just needing some assistance with feeding and such. It has been exhausting. I acutally fought with the doctor during the delivery. He was going to give her an episiotomy and I protested. It was an actual argument. Weird. I won. So weird to say it that way.

Here I am today at the hospital with the baby. She is very sweet.


I have a couple more mamas due now. Then I may get a small break until the end of April. We'll see.

My mom moved up here and in with us too. It's nice. She is very helpful. My kids are very happy with her here.

As I said in the last blog and I say often, I am tired.
