So 22%? No FICA? No state in Cali? Seems really really "low".

Anyway I am of the opinion that the only "fair" tax is an even split of the cost of government for all citizens. Why should what you do - how much you have and earn - decide what you pay? Are we not all equal citizens? Do we not all get the same one vote? Shouldn't what we pay be based on what we hire our elected government to do on our behalf? And what would it change if people got all worked up about something they wanted the government to do and the answer was "fine, your tax bill will thereby go up $600 this year"?

Thinking that'd be a swell self-correcting path to limited government.
