Had to drive out to rescue a friend and family today at higher elevation.

Up there.

They had been trapped at their house for the past 4 days with no electricity, water or heat.
They had 4 feet of snow plus.
On the way there we passed their driveway. We couldn't even tell there was a driveway.
We got there at the same time at the inmate rescue crew.
We all had to hike up a big ass in snow above our knees to their house.
One mama, two little girls, and a daddy safely back down to civilization.
The mama was completely freaked out.
Last night her girls were telling her they couldn't feel their feet.
I had tried to call this friend yesterday because we are usually emailing back and forth all day. She didn't answer. I was worried but someone else said that they had talked to her. I QUESTION THAT NOW.
They are all safe though, Thank God!!!!

We found out that the German's make very nice cars and our VW Rabbit can in fact go anywhere.

We still have no water. I am melting snow on the stove to wash the dishes.

Earlier today the hubby started filling up the tub with snow. We left. It still hasn't melted.

My dog doesn't much like peeing in this either. One accident in the house. Damn Damn Damn.

Still living happily though, even without water, in our ice castle.

Merry Christmasish. kiss

I have run the snowblower around the backyard a little for years, just to make it easier for the dogs to pee...otherwise it is all within a foot of the patio. puke

Next time you run to town, see if you can pick up some of the 5gallon water cooler jugs of water.

You are a good friend. That must have been rough for four days. Glad they are doing okay now.
I don't much like peeing in the snow either.... but at least I can entertain myself by writing my name wink
Stay warm and safe!
