Good News...
The hubby will most likely not be deployed.
Bad News...
When he returned home from Iraq about 6 years ago he was a bit off. He was a little PTSDed and is wife (exwife now) had met someone on the internet. They were emailing back and forth and planning to get married.
The internet guy was harrassing him in Iraq as well with multiple emails about loving his wife and blah blah blah....
Domestic stuff came up when he returned.
There is a lot more to it.
He pushed her and kicked a hole in the door.
The kids were home. She pressed charges, divorced him and quickly married the internet guy.
He went to jail for a couple days and then to court. He has been on probation for nearly 5 years. It's over soon.
It was dropped from a felony to a misdemeanor. It was also put into the legal papers that he could carry weapons while on duty.
Since then he has even been sent to Katrina and got a full time permanent position for the Military.
Yesterday they were getting everyone's paperwork ready to go to Iraq and I guess he was called to JAG.
They wanted to talk to him about...
The Lautenberg Amendment
"Domestic violence is incompatible with military service and contrary to our core values"
Bottom Line
Anyone who commits a misdemeanor crime:
That involves "Domestic Violence"
And is subsequently convicted of this crime
Cannot own, possess, or be issued weapons - even in the line of duty!
So at this point we are not sure if he will be able to keep his job.
Interesting how the past can just sneak up and bite you in the ass.
I was proud that he was willing to go to Iraq.
I am however glad he won't be going.
But still FUCK.
Lotsa good stuff in life.
Remember there is a surprise around every corner.
We need to figure out a way to get this expungged.
He'll be meeting with JAG again this week to see if the provision in his state court proceedings saying that he can carry weapons on duty mean shit.
How come when we move into a expensive house and buy a new damn car shit like this happens?? I'm worried he will lose his job.
I can take care of us. I just wanted to live comfortably for awhile. ugh
On a side note. The 9 year old now wants to go to Wrestle Mania at the Rose Garden. He is a busy guy.
