Even though this article came out in December 07 and it's now August 08 this is what we are talking about in my home.

I am feeling a bit anxious today about my new job and money and blah blah blah.
I pretend to not really worry about what May 2009 will bring.
So we had to talk about what he is having anxiety about.
It felt pretty real today.
May is 10 months away.
That is a long time.
Then again it's not.

Five Guard brigades notified of 2009 deployments

By Lisa Burgess, Stars and Stripes
Mideast edition, Tuesday, December 4, 2007

ARLINGTON, Va. _ About 15,000 Army National Guard troops are getting the word that they will deploy to either Afghanistan or Iraq beginning in the summer of 2009, Pentagon officials announced Monday.

Two National Guard brigades totaling about 7,000 personnel will be sent to Afghanistan, and another three brigades, totaling about 8,000 troops, are destined for Iraq, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman told reporters.

National Guard brigades vary in size, depending on their organization and function, Whitman said.

The two brigades destined for Afghanistan include the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, a Guard unit from Georgia, and the 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, a Guard unit from Florida.

The soldiers of the 48th will concentrate on training the Afghan National Security Forces, Whitman said, while those of the 53rd will be given a battle space to patrol, and will assume a full spectrum of operations.

The units that are scheduled to go to Iraq include the 32nd Brigade Combat Team from the Wisconsin National Guard; the 41st Brigade Combat Team from the Oregon National Guard; and the 155th Brigade Combat Team from the Mississippi National Guard.

All three brigades will be assigned security missions, with tasks that will include base defense and route security in both Iraq and Kuwait, Whitman said.

The five brigades will be mobilized for 12 months, in accordance with current Defense Department policy, Whitman said.

The actual length of their deployments will depend on how long the predeployment training periods last, he said.

The soldiers are being notified more than 18 months in advance to give them time to notify their civilian employers and get their family affairs in order, Whitman said.

umm yes I am mostly this happy as of late. I share so much of my kids here because if people ant to get to know me , 14 hours of my day is devoted to them so it is hard to avoid. My mouth has been ok lately, just waiting for benefits to come through to start fixing them ...I have been so busy though and I know that sept is gonna be CRAZY with derby overload (getting ready for my debut bout in oct) and back to school and the programming starts again for the centre that I find myself getting so anxious about too much activity that I can't sleep at night...and I worry about losing it completely frown but I am just trying to stay focused day to day , and breathe

I think you are very cool too! blush I am not sure about a registry, I found my team on facebook through a search, maybe that would help you?

I would find it VERY difficult to go about the process of making myself so self sufficient "in case" ..urghh , it is totoally logical and responsible but just effin yucky all at once.
