The holidays are upon us. OH my goodness. I am never ready for the giving. I always seem to pull through though. I am however excited to cook a turkey. I make a really damn good bird. Thank you Martha Stewart.
I seperate the skin from the bird and put a bunch of butter and herbs between. Stuff it with the traditional family stuffing. Then I cover with cheese cloth and baste with white wine and buter, cook on 350 degrees for the better part of my life, and continue to baste every 30 minutes until done. It is the best turkey in the Universe----> I swear. Everyone that has had this magical bird has completely loved it.

I will be having a bit more time off from here until my adventure to Bali in February. I am so happy that I will be able to get some rest here and there. I am so very nervous still to go on this adventure. A very long flight and 6 weeks away from everyone I know. It will be an amazing journey I am sure, but I still have butterflies about it.

We just got a new waterbirth tub built in at the birth center I work at. I am still working on making the room look beautiful. I need some plants and a few more peices of art. It is such an amazing tub. I am hoping to see a birth in it before I go away for a while. My next two births are going to be home births, which is great! I just want to use the tub. So maybe we will get a late transfer in.

Life is good right now. I am happy in so many aspects of my life.
I especially love what I do. I know I blog about it alot. I just really love it. I love the connection that I am able to have with people.
Here is a picture of me washing a mama's feet in lavendar and herb water at here blessing ceremony. When I do this I explain to mama's how I am offering myself to them as a servant in their birth process. It is very fun and special and always full of really good tears.
