Plagued by unsettling and strange nightmares lately... it seems uncharacteristic, since I seem to think I'm pretty happy during my waking hours. Yet this morning I awoke in a cold sweat; I had been comforting my dying cat, who had just been hit by a car. I startling realization that her brain was trickling through my fingers brought me to sudden wakefulness. I was afraid to go back to sleep, and lay awake, cuddling with the warm gray kitty beside me.
