I need to get on with my packing, but Anais has made such a cozy little spot on my lap, that I don't have the heart to move her. I only meant to take a five minute break, honest. (Fig!)
So I took a short drive this evening... I enjoyed the nice, balmy sunset. I realized that this may very well be my last springtime in California for a long time. I realized that its the reason I've been so in tune with the wonderfully changing seasons this year (springtime always turns me into a sentimental hippy, but more so this year). I already feel an acute sense of loss knowing I'll probably miss the first poppies next year. But at least Fig won't have to listen to me talk about how much I love California anymore. Being the eternal transient she is, she can't stand to hear me get mushy and resist the fact that its time to leave soon.
Anyway, Anais has left me for more interesting pursuits at the windowsill, so I'm off to be productive. Maybe if I get lots and lots done, I can talk the boy into taking me out to the pub tonite. A cool beer on the patio sounds absolutely capital.
Take care all... and if you're in California, look out for the poppies, they're here.

9.48, and the boy isn't off work yet. I'm dressed to go to the pub, but its looking less and less like a possibility. Theres still laundry to be finished... *sigh*
And all I wanted was a pint of cold, red beer. Yummm..
