So my hunny has left me to go hang out with her mom, so to appease my boredom I decided to swing down to the corner record store and see what I could dig up.
I love used.
So onto the list.
1. Ministry, "Filth Pig" price 5.99 To some this is the worst Ministry record ever, granted it's not perfect but any album that would follow "Psalm 69" would fall short of the mark. It's a great record in my opinion and the precursor to all the material that would come. Reload, Filth Pig, and the cover of Lay Lady Lay make this a must have. Plus if you're a fan you have to have all the records, so the 5.99 put this one over the top for me. =)
2. Kiss, "Revenge" price 4.99 I was 15 when this record came out, and I can remember this record with great amusement. First I loved Kiss in the post Peter+Ace years. Eric Carr and Eric Singer were way better drummers, and Bruce Kulick is a much heavier guitarist, and most responsible in Kiss' ability to make the transition into the metal world. Plus I remember playing Air-guitar to Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey as they played "God Gave Rock N' Roll to You". Plus after some questionable records this one gets the chemistry down and packs a punch. Domino, Unholy, I just Wanna, Spit It makes me think of the way things could've been for the band if they didn't get all fucking nostalgic.
3. The Afghan Whigs, "1965" price 3.99 This one I just lucked on. I loved the Afghan Whigs, and in the era of Grunge they were like the little nerdy brother. Now defunct, I've been feeling a little nostalgic for the band, so I happened on a record that 1 I didn't have and 2 I don't think I've ever heard so a double whammy for 4 bucks!
4. The Crow City of Angels Soundtrack, price 4.99 Just another part of my obsession in owning everything Crow and Crow related. It's funny Alex got me a copy for Christmas but when I opened it the cd inside was Soul Asylum's "Let Your Dim Light Shine" which goes into a whole other story... But the point is I got it now. White Zombie, Linda Perry, Above the Law mine all mine.
5. Combichrist, "Everybody Hates You" price 4.99 I loathe Combichrist. Why did I buy this? Coaster. Frisbee. Entertainment for my friends who keep complaining that I don't have this. Hey it was 4.99
6. Portishead, "Portishead" price free!!! If you but ten you get one free. Well the seven I got tonight plus the three I got last time landed me this gem. It's good music to chill out to, have a conversation, sit and meditate or fuck on. I highly recommend anything they do.
7. Nine Inch Nails, "Year Zero" price 13.99 Not used but brand spanking new. I haven't heard it but I'm keeping up with the Joneses.
8. My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, "The Filthiest Show in Town" price 14.99 TKK is the most kickass band I have ever encountered. Hard dance beats, savage vocals, the filthiest sleaziest songs I have ever heard. Again brand spankin new so who knows what awaits me except a dirty drug induced sex romp that will leave me in dire need of a shower. ;p
Total price of my boredom 56 dollars and change...
Other than that I went to see Hot Fuzz this weekend and it was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. I can't wait for the dvd.
Two weeks till New Mexico...
I need some Eggs Benedict.
I love used.
