Hey all it's 4th of July, not necessarily my favorite holiday but a holiday none the less. I like the history of it because it really denotes the achievement of great men, but on the same token I hate all the bells and whistles and ricketa-racketa that have since been attached, and more-so I hate the way that the ideals of this particular day is used to shamelessly endorse everything, from new cars, used cars, big sales at the mall, religiously laced right-winged political agenda's, bombing other countries, and let's not forget all the red, white, and blue crap that people buy just for that one day. I'm really against anything that takes away from history and the celebration around the fourth of July is just one more of those things that slowly erodes out past. People tear down the day because they hate the country or what the country has become, they hold it up like a thirty foot cross to condemn people for how they live, and it all just makes me sick! I love America, but not the same America we live in, I love the idea of America, I love the America intended, where any individual can come and pursue a better life, free of persecution, a land where cultures meld together to create something distinctly unique, and land of passion and goals, where the youth is nurtured motivated to take the reigns when there time comes. It's a good dream, and the one people should have when they think of this country. But now I just want to burn the motherfucker down!!!
