Why is it that every time my husband is gone I get to do all these neat things? Last night my friend came over and I gave my second hair cut ever. The first was a mohawk I helped my friend cut and dye. This time my other friend want me to help her with a chelsea. It was funny because it doesn't suit her face and some one said her head looked like a bowling ball. Oh well, it's what she wanted and I made the disclaimer by suggesting something else!
Today my friend Steve-O took me out to the movies at the dollar theaters. We started talking about him maybe being a bridesmaid at my wedding. Yes it's a he and yes I said brides maid. All my best friends are guys and I'll be damned if I have crazy women making my wedding complicated! Besides my mom has that covered.
Yesterday my little hottie bo bottie friend asked me to help her do a set to submit to the SG gods. I'm gonna have fun with this one! She wants to do it classic pin-up style...meaning....no direct beaver shots and teasing rather than laying every thing she has out on the table.
So far I'm having a blast artistically! Now if I could get all the stuff I need to start creating stuff for my house and work on making stuff for the store I want to open. CURSE THE SLUM LORDS!
Lately I've been thinking a lot about the art of Frida Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera. I know it's a bit old school but right now it's stuck in my head like a bad song! I like how the intergrate their culture and beliefs with the modern art of the time. Then again I've been really starting to dig mexican folk art as a whole. The use of color entrances me.
Last night when I was searching the internet for paper lanterns for my wedding a friend of mine told me the story of the White Cat a lot of japanese and local people keep around their busnesses and homes. I have seen these little figures my whole life and never knew the story behind them! Now I want to find a place on my body to get one tattoo'ed! I think I'm over loading with all the stuff I want to create! Too much inspiration!
I suppose that's what happens when you have a two year block! At any rate I'll get back to you cats and kittens later!
