SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOO another day bites the dust and this time I actually have a rant. Why do people some how think that if you work at a record store you know everything there is to know about music and if you don't they look at you like you're an idiot?
Personally it pisses me off when some one treats me like I'm stupid after they ask questions like:
-Do you know this one song? They play it on the radio sometimes but I'm not sure who sings it or what the title is.
-Do you know this song (breaks into off pitched bad singing)?
-Hey I'm looking for this one cd...do you know where I can find it? I've checked and there aren't any out there!
(usually this is accompanied by me doing a search and discovering we have seven copies of the album they are seeking)
The best is when they respond to the information that we don't know what the hell they are talking about (Mainly because we are human and we can't all like the same stuff)
-Aren't you supposed to know? I mean you do work at a record store!
I mean for fucks sake....who does know every band, song title, album title, or song lyrics ever created?
I absolutely love my job but I wish people would get a little more involved in the music they are into.

I used to work at a music store and every single fucking thing you listed used to bother the hell out of me. In my case, it was usually a white, extremely hick boy trying to get me, who at the time was extremely metaled and punked out, to help them figure out a particular rap song that "goes jest sumthin lahke that raht thare"...God I don't miss those days.
