Just buying me time till its time to go to work tonight. I almost don't want to go in, I can't tell if its me being lazy or me not wanting to work cuz i don't care for the job. It's funny though I'll gladly work 8 hours of just putting movies back where they go and stocking the shelves than to work one minute on the register. If they have me do that then I'll stick around ha ha

Well aside from the obvious signifigance of today to Americans and eventually the world many things happened today in history. Majority of the events are acts of war, acts of terrorism and even including just violent and brutal murder. Crazy shit! Believe me when I say I had to narrow it down

• 1054 - A supernova is observed by the Chinese, the Arabs and possibly Amerindians near the star Tauri. For several months it remains bright enough to be seen during the day. Its remnants form the Crab Nebula.
• 1776 - American Independence Day: The United States Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress declaring itself free of British rule.
• 1827 - Slavery is abolished in New York State.
• 1862 - Lewis Carroll tells Alice Liddell a story that would grow into Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequels
• 1886 - The people of France offer the Statue of Liberty to the people of the United States.
• 1910 - African-American boxer Jack Johnson knocks out white boxer Jim Jeffries in a heavyweight boxing match sparking race riots across the United States.
• 1918 - Bolsheviks kill Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and his family (Julian calendar date).
• 1968 - Two teens are killed at Lake Herman Road in California. They were the first (known) victims of the Zodiac Killer.
• 1987 - In France, former Gestapo chief Klaus Barbie (aka the "Butcher of Lyon") is convicted of crimes against humanity and is sentenced to life imprisonment.
