I attempted to create this blog yesterday, but then my internet connection exploded in a fiery tantrum of doom.
Thankfully, it's revived itself today, though.
I got my gender essay back a few days ago. It was on the portrayal of masculinity in Hemingway, The Daughters of Decadence, and Simone De Beauvoir. I got myself a first! I'm so beyond pleased with this grade, not only because it's the highest one possible, but because I love Gender. Of all the aspects of literature, this is the one I find most fascinating. I'm really considering going in for a gender based career.
Anyway, gloating over. I've been taking a lot of pictures lately. Some are crappy, some aren't. Me and my slr seem to have had a tiff. I think I need to get a lens that will shoot portraits better in natural light. Anyone got any help with this?

I took some mirror shots. It was rather fun.
I bought myself a wig. I'm really enjoying the duality of having short hair, but being able to have long locks when I want to.
I took some black and white semi-nudes. I like them quite a lot, but I don't know where the right place for them would be.
I'm off to watch Gia. And I need to finish Huck Finn by tomorrow. Dun dun dunnn.

My recommendations for awesome portrait lenses are the Canon EF 100mm f/2, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 or if you're really wanting to spend a huge chunk of change, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8.
They're all a little pricey but you would only need one of those to really make a difference to your natural light/portrait photography. I am a huge fan of the Sigma 30mm - it is divine! Smooth bokeh, feels good to use and looks the part.
Also, do you have a reflector? You'll find that they can make all the difference to your photographs just by putting a little fill in on the shadows. You can also get ones that come with stands so you don't have to try juggling that and your camera at the same time!
