I heard that line on an episode of flash forward, and it made me pause to
think (can't for the life of me remember what happened in the rest of the
episode!) I realise that it is a very inflammatory statement, but at
the same time an exceedingly powerful one.
strip away the context and the bomb and you are left with a person willing
to die for a cause, for their beliefs - At some level I actually envy that
absolute belief in an ideal.
I mean I can't think of many things that I would die for, but I can tell
you this - religious doctrine is not one of them, family & the love of a
good woman (yes I am a dork... ) are two that I can think of.

i sat and ruminated this thought for a couple of days, rain of thought
meandering round, hitting a couple of sidings, loading and unloading a
couple of passengers, changing direction and meandering off again in a
new direction.

Eventually my train arrived in station, German timekeeper clucking his
head in frustration at the african timing exhibited by my train and the
inefficiency of its route - But the job was done and the banner unfurled
What has happened to the noble jobs? and by noble i strictly mean 3 jobs
- Teaching
- doctors / nursing
- Police
Some may argue that a religious figure should have a place in there, but
by the power vested in me by the keys that I caress I strike them off the
roll - between the catholic proclivity for little boys and the muslim
tendency to blow themselves up i have lost all faith (now that i have
offended 2 of the major religions maybe they will stop fighting each other
long enough to give me a good stoning ala middle ages or current day
Nigeria)
Do people still think that these jobs are noble callings? Or have they just
become places for the incompetent to hide?
Now before somebody (else) comes baying for my blood let me qualify by saying
that my mother is a teacher - she just had a calling to it, she loved
teaching and educating and to this day loves her job. the things that irritate
her are hardly ever the kids, well except for the age old 'the kids of today
have no discipline!'
so is she the exception, or am i just being cynical?
Do the majority of cops take bribes, or do we only ever remember the ones that took bribes?
do we only remember the doctor that messed up the surgery?
Im more lost then when i started rambling.... so here is a picture of Tarions bum. have my earphones reminding me to breathe so I'm all good
good fight, good night!
