Yesterday I went in my garden and selected seven perfect cucumbers, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 types of basil, corriander, sage, chili peppers, 2 banana peppers, chives, and some random flowers (including a lovely sunflower) to put in a vase and pray my cats don't knock over. I love this time of year. The weather is calming down and the harvest is plentiful. I've never had such amazing salads.

I can't believe all the suffering going on in Louisiana. If you want a non-mass media perspective check out this. I stole it from Lotusmonger. I can't imagine how chaotic it must be to have to relocate an entire region of people. I can't imagine losing Chicago. No homes, jobs, food... you'd lose touch with friends... I wonder what it was like during the Chicago Fire. During a time without the technology we have where people around the world can see what it looks like and how bad it is. And we have credit cards, where people can instantly donate funds, and helicopters where people can be evacutated. Crazy little world, eh?
