I think of the entire Northwest as my home, but I grew up in Spokane, WA.

Here's some stuff I made:

Ok, actually, it's one thing. I thought I'd uploaded the rest and haven't and don't feel like resizing the images. It's about 7' tall and 5' wide. I just finished working on a piece for a Dungeons and Dragons book. I feel this to be fucking awesome. It's of a Gelatinous Cube. The book is being coordinated by an artist here in NY that somehow ended up working with a writer and they wanted to have gallery type artists rather than illustrators do all the images for it. The project should culminate in an exhibition... so if it does I'll say so. I'm okay with the piece I made, but feel it would probably be better had I had more time (I got offered the project late in the game). Oh well.

Edit: Since writing this I got the images worked out. The first is the AD&D thing and the second was going to go to that show in Boston last month, but I sent something else instead, here they are:

I went and saw Amebix and The Sword back to back Thursday and Friday. Amebix was mind blowingly good. There's really not much more to say about it... if you missed it... you missed out. I got chills yelling along to some classics and then lost my voice for a little while. It feels really good to hear and say something that carries the same meaning to me now that it did 10 or 15 years ago. No Gods No Masters, indeed. The Sword was also quite good, but I'd seen them before and there were a fair number of douche bags at the show which was not helped by the fact that the friend that was going to come with me didn't buy his ticket in time. Whatever, they played Sea of Spears and that made me happy.

Finished reading Gravity's Rainbow and it was phenomenal. I started reading it over a year ago and kind of revisited it over time. Was finally able to return the copy I borrowed from my friend in Boston. I've started reading Pierre Klasowski's 'The Baphomet' since and it's just fucking boring in comparison.

Really I guess the biggest news is that everyone is getting laid off. New York is supposed to lose 300,000 jobs this year. That's nearly the population of my hometown. About half of the guys I work with were let go last week and I'm counting myself lucky to still have a job. It's really kind of depressing. I ended up talking to some people at the formerly mentioned Sword show and a party the next night about the same thing... we were in consensus that the whole city is kind of on edge. As any rational person might do when times are economically hard, I scheduled a tattoo appointment. There should be some pictures in the oncoming weeks. I won't give it away because you won't care, but it's based on a Durer print.

I had a lot more on my mind, but am getting tired and was writing this in the hopes that it would put me to sleep. This isn't feeling like a real meal of a blog, but I've already written it. Until next time.
