Went to the Zak Smith opening last night and ran into a ton of people I haven't seen in quite a while, almost all of whom accused me of dropping off the face of the earth. So I thought I'd say something to prove that, indeed, I am here. The opening was real fun, the work was good (not that I had expected otherwise) and I'm always happy to be reassured that people from a porn site can be real nice in person. The after party was a good time, too and I tried to get around the mob and say hi to everyone that I talk to on here. If I missed you I apologize... but get off your ass and say hi yourself next time. I'd list everyone that I ran into but then half my blog would be pink hyperlinks. In addition to SG people I also got to see some people from school that were down from Boston and ones that also live here. So it was just a nice little evening.

I went to the Watain show as previously mentioned in my last blog. It was awesome. My good friend Joe from Seattle plays in Book of Black Earth who was on the tour, so I actually spent the majority of the time hanging out with him and a few other dudes I know from over there. It was real nice since I don't know many people in the metal scene here and I used to play with their bands. I'd also forgotten what insane partiers some of those guys are, holy shit. Was a little bummed to hear that Wormwood has broken up as they were a bit of an institution within the scene over there. Krallice was an unexpected surprise and worth the time if you get the chance. Kinda arty BM ala Wolves in the Throneroom... only maybe better. I got the latest issue of Unrestrained! in the mail the day after and they were featured in it. It's a coincidence and not really that interesting.

Not many other developments, just making art and working. My general schedule is between 50 and 60 hours a week of art handling and then if I'm lucky between 10 and 20 hours in my studio. Hence the dropping of the face of the earth thing. One good thing to come of the utterly fucked stock market is that the ultra-wealthy are not wanting to pay to have ridiculous things done with their art collections and I am working less. Technically this is a bad thing since I need money to live, but it is affording me time to do things like make art of my own and go to satanic metal shows. Sometimes religion just has to come before profit. Or something.

Another friend of mine has an opening in Brooklyn tonight, can't remember the space or I'd pimp it on here... his name is Kevin Bucholtz though if you're interested. A very good photographer and one of my closest friends is coming down to see it, so that'll be awesome.

Also, my roommate is organizing an Obama parade. If you're interested in participating get ahold of me.

Til my next resurfacing... skull

Glad to hear you're keeping busy and staying out of trouble! Sucks that you're not getting as much time in your studio as you would like, but it sounds like you're actually doing pretty well if you're getting upwards of 20 hrs/wk (particularly in NYC).

The Seventh Seal is also one of my all-time favorites. I had a friend play it for me back in college and I immediately went and bought a copy. And don't forget the usefulness of "Love is the blackest of all plagues" in Swedish. You'll use that one all the time...

Oh, and I can't believe I forgot about this one:
