I think of the entire Northwest as my home, but I grew up in Spokane, WA.

Okay- quick.

I caught the Fung Wah to NY to check out the galleries in Chelsea this past weekend. Most of the stuff I saw was gimmicky and mediocre, though there were a couple of good shows. Matthew Ritchie's was rad (I'd never gotten to see his work in person), Erika Wastrom at Lohin Geduld was pretty damn cool, Eva Struble's work was pretty exciting, Ken Gonzales-Day had a cool show called 'Lynching in the West' and some guy who painted a ton of pictures of Jesus being shot up (I can't remember his name) and violently crucified was cool, too. There was such an abundance of skulls it was ridiculous, like everyone got together and was like, "Hey, Halloween is coming up, let's make a joke!" Dumb. Upon returning to school we made a lengthy list of integral elements of hipster art. The list includes: skulls, birds, deer, RVs (or fake wood panelling), sock puppets, naked chicks and of course, hipster friends of the artist.

The next day we went to see Zaha Hadid's work at the Guggenheim- it's awesome and we talked the guard into letting us in free. We also went and checked out the Sean Scully retrospective at the Met and his work is much more interesting in person. I was, however, a little disspointed that they'd put away their Kiefer painting to put the show up.

The Fung Wah broke down on the way home and we tried to hitch it the rest of the way. We got one ride from a guy named Vinnie in what can only be described as a bitchin Camaro, then we were stuck in Connecticut and had to call my buddy Tommy for a ride home. He's the fucking greatest ever yes.

The next day (Columbus day for those of you keeping track) I went to the Mass MOCA where there's a pretty good show called Ahistoric Occasion. Some of the work is cool, some not. Dario Robleto's stuff stand out in my mind especially. Carsten Holler has a solo show there wherein an amusement park is recreated - it was creepy; kind of reminiscent of the first Silent Hill video game if any of you are familiar. The best part of that place right now for me is the Huang Yong Ping retrospective going on. Totally amazing, the guy's the shit plus I got to see a Joseph Beuys piece for the first time.

So, lots of art over the past few days. Speaking of which, mine has gone off the fucking deep end may be taking up residence in a place called 'totally fucked up' for a while. We'll see what happens.

Also, I finally got a chance to do my laundry today for the first time in almost a month. I had been wearing silk boxers and rotating socks. Pretty awesome.

Also, if any of you are interested in the resolutions to the last entry: things have been sorted out with my friend and all is well and I'm not worried about who's having what kid as long as it's not mine.

Stay fuck!

Shit! almost forgot - I went and saw Iron Maiden for the first time Friday before the travelling began. It was awesome and as a result I got to go gallery hopping in a Maiden shirt. Cool.

Also- I am really frustrated with people and the way I interact with them.
