Jealousy is one of the worst emotions to suffer from because it's root is always lack of trust. At least knowing that you can have an opportunity to make things right. The only way to cure it is to take a chance and trust him/her, or if it's someone else to work double hard to earn their trust. Yea...it sucks.

She's only responsible for eating bugs that come into the apartment. And since I gave her that verbal warning I haven't seen a single bug inside. Yes, I have high expectations of my employees. There are lots of kitties out there looking for gigs, so I can afford to be a hardass. To your point, though, I do have to be careful not to go too far - the last thing I want to do is ride them so hard that it motivates them to unionize...
