So terribly sorry that I ghosted a bit, our wifi has been down since we moved into our new place (which I love by the way). Our lovely little bunny became an escape artist and decided to chew wires all night :( BUT, we have everything fixed and now I will no longer be a ghost (:
I decided to do a blog homework on My Favorite Past Halloween Costume, it hasn't been too long to post about this right, @missy and @rambo ;)
My favorite Halloween costume, hands down, has got to be my Elizabeth Short costume!! As I am sure most of you know, Elizabeth Short is the Black Dahlia, the infamous young woman who was brutally murdered and left on a sidewalk in the...20's(?) I could be off with that date. In any case, this was Halloween 2012 0r 2011, I can't remember....I decided to try doing my own makeup. If you aren't familiar with the Black Dahlia, her smile was basically cut open from ear to ear. I thought it would be super cool and super creepy to do this to myself.
I went out to a bunch of party stores a few weeks before Halloween and stock up on any and all makeup that I thought I would need. I bought; liquid latex, bloody scabs, a jar of fake blood, I even found little round tubs of fake skin. I practiced and practiced my makeup almost every night a week before. I was so excited!!
This was the resulting makeup Halloween night! I really regret not getting a full body shot of my costume. I was basically in all black lingerie. I decided that it was too difficult to put a big scar going all around my body, so I went a different direction. I decided the leg garter would be a little "sexier" so this was the bottom half of my costume
Really sorry for the terrible picture quality (original iphone picture quality) hahaha!! Of course, being a true southerner, my costume debuted on Bourbon street, where I proceeded to get shit faced, like anyone would on Bourbon haha. It was and still is my all time favorite Halloween costume! (: Hope you love it just as much as I do!
