On CSPAN they are discussing upgrading our passenger rail system. I'm pretty sure everyone knows how much AMTRAK and the majority of passenger rail is horrible. Really Horrible. If it were up to me, we would have high speed rail lines running between every major city within the United States. I think it would be quite economically viable and cost efficient. Also I beleive that per person rail is the most evironmentally friendly as well. I would kill to be able to hop on a train here in Orlando and 5-6 hours later end up in Washingto DC. Or be able to go from Denver to San Fran in 8 hours. Plus the costs for rail travel would be considerably lower than air travel.
