You feel the sweet breath of time
It's whispering, its truth not mine
Three weeks to go. I'm starting to get quite anxious about this next deployment. The reality of leaving the country for another 7 months is slowly creeping up on me. I hate the waiting. This whole 5 months since I have been back has just been a big waiting game. After the few weeks of rest I had after returning the feeling slowly came back. I am impatient, annoyed and somewhat angered at our OPtempo schedule. If it had been my choice I would have just stayed out in Iraq for another 6 months. I really have not enjoyed the past couple of months at work. It's absurd how time has flown since I got back. I just want to get this shit over with.
On another happier note Dave_H and I drove up to Norfolk(Nawfalk as our cabbie called it.) this past weekend to see Interpol. I drove and Dave made music. I speed relentlessly and Dave gets off easy because he can't drive a stick.. We stayed in some cheap Motel 6 where the only room was for smokers. I don't know why people just can't walk outside to smoke. The room smelled atrocious. We were both wrecked when we got there so we passed out.
The next morning Dave_h wanted to see the downtown area of Norfolk and actually find the venue where Interpol was playing. I then proceeded to get us quite lost. Norfolk has to be the most disorienting city I have ever been to. The roads curve and twist around the bay and all the highways cris-cross each other like a well woven braid. It took us an hour and a load of luck to make it downtown. Actually I am not even sure how I made it downtown the first time.
Anyways Interpol was awesome. They played pretty much everything I wanted to hear except for Specialist. I really am starting to like their new CD. I haven't listened to the last couple tracks but the first five songs are amazing. Dave and I were quite(I don't even think I can put it into terms.) drunk. Ummmm we ended up making our way to some random bar and the last thing I remember is Dave_h doing the Dave_h dance. yes really.
The next morning I was still drunk for some reason. But apparently I made it home and I had all my stuff. We got Qdoba. Drove Home. End of Story.
I have pictures somewhere but I can't find them.
I also have a song Dave_h made about me. I want to post it up because its halarious.
I also need to write my penpals. I really haven't replied to anyone in about 4 months
Also go listen to my buddy Christian's music.
