Whatever shame your parents feel is theirs - deserved or not. You don't NEED to take it on. It sounds like you're dealing with that relationship mindfully, which is great. It also sounds like you have much to be proud of in yourself. Your accomplishments are tremendous, and they are your own. While I know it's important to feel appreciated for them, it's also important to remember that whether or not that's true right now, they REMAIN tremendous.

Good news. Got tested in my hands and feet and have osteoporosis and arthritis but not RA there. Unfortunately I have torn tendons in both my feet and ankles. I have a really bad shoulder injury on both shoulders. And spine is fucked. cyst in knee. I wish to live as long as possible so I’ve been doing my best to care for me. Now that my mama is gone, we can finally access her medical records soon which she hid from me my whole life. Would really like to know more about her side of the family because all I know is heart disease and scoliosis runs in her family. We will see. Updates to come.
