Ok so while I took my dog to the vet, I left my computer on and it sucked my bandwidth allowance down to nil. So until my billing term is up I am restricting my computer usage. That includes all porn and SG.
Sadly I haven't had a chance to read everyone's blogs in the meantime.... but I will catch up as soon as I can!
Sometime on the morning of the 4th my dog got into my Trident Sugarless Gum which contains an ingredient called Xylitol. The gum was a type of gum I would have never bought for myself as I prefer hard gum; and the brand I buy doesn't contain Xylitol. The gum was a stocking stuffer and the only reason I opened the pack was cause I was bored (and well into quitting weed btw until this happened!). I had 2 pieces out of the 14 piece set.
During the night my dog got onto the coffee table and took the gum and ate everything except half of the face side of the package. When you read the ingredients you could read 'XYL' and the rest was torn off. Luckily my mom found out quick enough that it was very toxic to dogs (especially in the amount she ate) and I raced off to the vet leaving my apartment as is (lunch mess, computer on, lights on). I made a 1.5hr trip in an hour and actually hit some extreme speeds with the car.
I drove her to my vet in my small town to save money as toronto vets tend to charge double.
Once to the vet I was fully informed how serious the situation was. I broke down crying.
We later had to transfer her to the vet hospital. I stayed with her every hour I could.
The good news is that she is ok now. She's totally fine and doesn't seem affected by it at all. Needless to say it was a good scare and got me 2 days away from work
. I couldn't believe how quickly I fell apart. My world was spinning and I didn't realize how much this simple bag-o-fur means to me
