So, what has Oracle been up too...
WELL, I'm glad you asked. Sat, Mon and Tues I was volunteering up on Mount Washington for the 2007 IPC World Cup It was awesome. For those that don't know (which was me on Friday) It was the world cup for paralympic Biathlon and cross country skiing. I had SO much fun. Sat kind of sucked, a blizzard rolled through so we were so wet and cold but it was still great to watch the athletes compete. Monday was a practice day for them so we got to play with the equipment when they weren't there training. The rifles for the blind athletes were laser sighted. The laser was connected to a headset that made a series of beeps telling the athlete if they were left/right, too high or too low and a very loud steady tone for center. It was ALOT harder than it sounds. The first couple of times I shot a 0 for 5 then as I practiced I was able to shoot a 4/5 but I didn't just sky 5 kms first. A female athlete from Denmark was able to get into position and hit 5/5 in about a minute (as compared to 3 to 5 minutes most others took) she shot 4 times for a total of 20 shots, she missed ONCE. I was amazed and man could she sky. (her guide was very hot too) The whole guide concept was impressive too. The visually impared athlete would sky behind a guide, the guide would tell them where to go, if they were around other competitors and where to line up for the shooting phase. I have to say, I don't think I would EVER have enough faith in another person to sky as fast as possible in a new area and relying on some ass to make sure I don't hit anything or anyone. Like I said, they went FAST. On the practice day we got to interact with the competitors. It was great, they were alot of fun...I am now looking forward to the 2010 paralympics more then the 2010 Olympics. I am going to try and volunteer with them again. I am going to be rooting for robbi weldon, she was in my lane for 30 minutes for target practice on Monday. Like I said everyone that worked there got to interact with different athletes more so we all had our favourites and it became personal like cheering for a friend instead of just some person...which of course makes it more fun when you know them right.
Anywhoo...what else. I met a girl...now don't get too excited, we have just been out together twice, both times a movie at her house. I so get mixed signals from her as far as how she feels about me and where things are going. She is adament that she doesn't want to get serious, but I am thinking we are getting along great. We are able to talk about serious things, we relate to each other and damn she is beautiful...she isn't like model beautiful (which isn't my type) she is just perfect for what I have been looking for. (she even has some very cool shoes, and for anyone that really knows me, knows how important that is) A long time ago (98) I was dating a girl..she was the most perfect woman I have ever dated, she was "THE" girl that got away. since then I have compared every girl to her and as great as the girls I've dated have been there have always been little things that I pick out and let fester till I can't date that person anymore. WELL...not to get to far ahead of myself but I think this girl is going to allow me to get past the one from 98. I don't see faults with her, everytime we talk, she moves, I look at her or anything all I see is another way she is beautiful. Now I also know my luck with the ladies so I won't be crushed when it doesn't work, I am just going to enjoy every chance I get to spend time with her.
i still have to sell my BMW...OR my Mustang, I don't think I would get what I need to for the mustang so its the BMW I am going to put in the auto trader.
AND I might be going to Yellowknife at the end of the month for 5 days. I hope so because I SERIOUSLY need hours (15.7 to be exact) before the end of the month.
