So, i took a train from Halifax Nova Scotia to Toronto. It was the worst thing (aside from winter survival course) I have ever done. The customer service was HORRIBLE (an attendant yelled at an elderly lady who just ask a very polite question, then when he put her bags in the overhead storage he hit her in the head with it first - I later found out she had a tumor removed from her brain -) One of my suitcases got soaked (I asked a manager how it happened, she casually said that it was placed next to a door that wasn't closed properly so snow got in it) she didn't offer and apology or anything, our first train was delayed 3 hours then to make up for it they cramed us on an already sold out train with no baggage car so I had to lug three hug boxes from one train to another (or pay a porter for a service I already paid for -which I finally did because they didn't offer carts of any kind -) So I am sitting on the second train, staff continues to be very rude (with the exception of one or two members) I get off in Toronto, again I paid for my bags to be taken off the train to the street level for me to pick up but since I carried them on the train, I took them off. After waiting 20 minutes for a porter one came by but instead of helping me, he picked up 2 unclaimed cases so I asked him for help, he too was short with me saying he would send someone shortly...so now I was furious, I start dragging my stuff to the elevator, the very rude attendant on the train came over, still rude but offered to help...I told him to get away because I already wanted to choke him...He calls the porter that already told me to wait...the porter very rudely says he would help me like I was inconveniencing him...so I denied his help and took the elevator to the main floor and the second I stepped off the elevator I loudly yelled I WANT A MANAGER RIGHT NOW...so some little fella comes over and I said you a manager and he said no but if you have a problem you have to come to customer service...I asked if he would carry my bags there he said he couldn't and I said I couldn't either so a manager better come see me NOW. So one did..he just smiled and nodded very managerily saying, yes that sounds awful...you should really call someone(he even handed me a customer service card) I lost it but figured I was fighting a losing battle..
so moral of the story...trains are NOT better then airplanes.



Ok..pt 2, I still haven't called their customer service department but I will. Today, I was supposed to be taking a bus up to Orillia to see my mom. I was going to take the 2pm bus...I called an hour ahead to get a taxi to pick me up at 130..it showed up at 145...but he assured me we would get there in plenthy of time...I was like okay...so he takes me to the wrong damn bus terminal...so I ended up shipping my moms stuff to her on that bus and I will be waiting til after new years to go see her.

I can't wait to see what happens on the plane ride back to Nova Scotia.
