Today, I read a person referring to another person as an "elitist". It's a label I get stuck with a lot. People sometimes think I have unfair expectations of the people around me. I don't think that's true at all. My expectations may be high, but I don't want anything out of anyone else that I don't first want out of myself. I don't understand why someone would think that a person who aspires to be "elite" is a bad person. I don't have much patience for people who willingly shoot for less than brilliant and are happy with being mediocre.
