If you haven't seen it yet, go out today and see 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Holy Moses, I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. The narrative structure is genius, wrapping flashbacks within flashbacks, and what's even more brilliant is that the story is cohesive and makes sense.
The male lead, Dev Patel, gives a charming performance, and the actress playing his cinematic object of destiny, Freida Pinto, is gorgeous. However, I was really impressed by the child actors. Who knew I could like a movie that had kids in it?
The romance at the heart of the story is poignant, and the ending will leave you saying, with genuine joy, 'Awwww!'. I left the theater last night with a dumb grin.
