Hi, Hey, HELLO!
Long time no talk! Thanks to everyone who gave me some really great advice on my last blog, at this stage I'm not selling prints but it is something I'm considering in the future :)
Since the last time we spoke I've been doing a lot of contemplation, which is very convenient for this weeks @BLOGHOMEWORK topic "Share an experience from your past that helped shape you into the person you are."
I'm the kind of person that works hard on not allowing my past to define who I Am. The way I see it, the past was once upon-a-time 'The Present' and as a person who has read Eckhart Tolle's books one too many times, the present moment is all that really matters. So let the present moment define who you ARE, leave the past behind. I know waaay too many people who define themselves by their past experiences "You don't know what I've been through", "You haven't seen what I've seen". And that's cool, but don't expect me to treat you any differently because you've "been through a lot". Because we all have! Every single person in the SG community, in your Neighborhood, Town, City, Country, has a story to tell.
Sure telling "Your Story" can be totally fine, a lot of people have made butt loads of money selling Their Stories as books BUT you need to ask yourself, Will I be empowering others to make positive changes in their lives OR Am I just attempting to justify why I feel depressed and hoping people might understand why i'm sad all the time.
Lets look at Facebook, I'm sure we have all seen those statuses from Sad Freddy who wants everyone to know how poo-poo his life is but doesn't want any help to turn things around. Sad Freddy just wants you to say "Poor Sad Freddy, he has it so tough" or "Maybe we should all do something nice for Sad Freddy to take his mind off things".
Don't get me wrong compassion is beautiful but the best thing I can teach you and something I've definitely learnt the hard way is, get good at determining the 'Sad Freddy/s' in your life, because Sad Freddy is a mother fucking vampire who will drain the life out of you and before you know it your energy and life will be as poo-poo as Freddy's ! HAHAHA.
Here's a little secret, I use to be a Sad Freddy, I felt totally defeated by life. I've been in and out of Mental Hospitals, Medicated and I've lost count of the amount of Counsellors and Psychologists I have spoken to. I'm not going to bore you with the nitty-gritty of my story because ultimately it doesn't matter anymore.
Yes some of us may have had a rough childhood, seen stuff we shouldn't have seen, had our hearts broken too many times, lost everything or someone who meant the world to us! Please know that ultimately it's up to you...define yourself by the past or set yourself free, what will you choose?
So if past experiences have taught me anything, it's all about perception and you are in control. Always. No exception. Things might not go as planed but ultimately it's up to you whether your going to perceive the experience as either 'Good' or 'Bad'.
Be the Hero of your own story, wake up each day and decide what mind frame you wish to maintain. Be the Boss Bitch I know you are, and stay the fuck away from Sad Freddy. Let Sad Freddy deal with his shit. You can have compassion for Sad Freddy, because you might know how it felt to be Sad Freddy. My heart breaks for all the Sad Freddy's of the world. But you have to take control of your life and your happiness and know that despite how open, peaceful, and loving you attempt to be, people can only meet you as deeply as they've met themselves.
Know your worth, know your strength, know your light and do not depend on another to acknowledge it or praise it. Because to another it may not been seen, not because you aren't enough, but because they don't feel they are.
I don't wish to inspire anyone by my story, I only encourage you to look at yourself in awe. Not because of what you've been through in the past but for the strong beautiful person you are today!
So that concludes my @bloghomework for this week, thank you @lyxzen @missy & @rambo.
Before I go, did you know @exkyu and I have a set coming out in 6 days! This one really crept up on me!! WOWZA! Here's a little preview. Enjoy ;) Talk soon xx
