the torch thing was abit anticlimactic indeed. They pulled a switcheroo and just bailed out of there to Van Ness. I almost went with some friends on Vespas to get over there, but eh....I stayed behind at the Embarcadero.
however, hopefully the real word got out to the world. about how fiendish the chinese govt is regarding human rights and the genocide of the Tibetan people.
i still think it was chickenshit to not run the route down the embarcadero. however, it was groovy to hang out with other like minded peoples on Justin Herman Plaza. the fellowship was quite nice.
In fact, it seemed like most of the hostile vibes were coming from the pro-china people. they were yelling "Liar Liar" "Dalai Liar" every chance they could with absolute foaming at the mouth hostility!
Communism is dangerous to your health. Mental and physical.
i need several good stiff drinks after this whole affair though. this whole thing has left me abit somber.
